It is <strong>recognized by the French National Education and the AEFE<\/strong>: it offers the official curriculum and <strong>guarantees to the students the possibility to continue its studies in any public middle school in France and in the world wihtin the AEFE network.<\/strong><\/p><p>Since 2021\/2022, our 6th grade is also recognized by the <strong>Basel Stadt&#8217;s department of education<\/strong>, which means that since the start of the school year 2022\/2023, our students can directly access the Swiss public secondary schools without an entrance exam.<\/p><h3>PEDAGOGY<\/h3><p>Le 6th grade is the last year of the 3rd cycle, the cycle of consolidations, started in the 4th grade (CM1) at the Elementary school.\u00a0<\/p><p>From now on, any topic is taught by specific teacher. Topics are learnt more in depth, with more rigour.<\/p><p>The topics taught in the 6th grade are :<\/p><ul><li>French<\/li><li>Maths<\/li><li>History<\/li><li>Geography<\/li><li>Sciences<\/li><li>Physical Education<\/li><li>German<\/li><li>English<\/li><li>Arts<\/li><li>Music<\/li><\/ul><p>At the EFDB, thanks to its international section in German, German is taught not only in linguistic classes, but also in non linguistic classes, such as geography, sciences, history for a total of 7 hours per week.\u00a0<\/p><p>English is also taught in a non linguistic class for a total of 4 hours per week.<\/p><p>Zoom on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.efdb.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Les-sections-internationales.pdf\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14569\">international sections<\/a><\/p><p>In the Basel school system, the 6th grade belongs to the elementary school : our 6th grade students can directly start in the 1st year of a Basel middle school.
